If you have a scanner, you will eventually need to install updates and periodically perform several other actions that will allow it to continue to function optimally.
Here are some maintenance procedures that should not be overlooked:
UPDATING IPC SUPPORT
(the laser app used with Linea Pro)
1- Open the IPC Support app. This app should be on your device already. If not, you can download it on the AppStore.
2- Press the button on the right of the scanner to detect the laser.
3- Once the battery is fully green (the percentage displayed indicates to what extent the Linea Pro laser is charged), click on Firmware at the bottom of the screen.
Please note: if the laser cannot be detected, the scanner's battery may be too weak to proceed. Simply charge it.
4- Click the Auto Update button.
5- Make sure that “LINEAPro5 (Current Firmware)” is indicated at the top of the list.
If it isn't, select it and then click on Proceed. This will place the item at the top of the list, as desired.
6- Make sure the Backup Charge option is enabled to maximize the device's battery life.
UPDATING THE IOS
1- Follow the instructions when update pop-ups appear. Do not ignore them.
2- If you do not see pop-ups, you will receive notifications in Settings - General.
3- We recommend that you periodically check in Settings - General for updates to install, even if you haven't received any notifications instructing you to do so.
UPDATING THE THEPOINTOFSALE.COM APP
1- A notification should appear on top of the App Store logo.
2- Enter the App Store and go to Updates at the bottom of the screen.
3- Click on the “Update” button.
4- We recommend that you periodically check this location for updates to install, even if you haven't received any notifications instructing you to do so. Furthermore, make sure you are subscribed to our Organizers' newsletter to always keep abreast with the latest updates and improvements.
If the updates have been installed and the laser scanner is not working, make sure that it is fully charged. The battery icon that you see in the screen's upper right-hand corner indicates to what extent the iPod's battery is charged—it is not an indication of the Linea Pro system's battery. Plug in the device and try again later.
